Adam Mayer has been a Libertarian since 1988.  In 1992 Adam worked on the Andre Marrou campaign in New York to get him on the ballot.  In 1994 when the Libertarian Party of New York City disbanded, Adam, his wife, Christiana, and other Libertarians established the Libertarian Party of Queens county where Adam served as the county party's first secretary.

In 1996 when Adam moved to Oregon, he was appointed to the LPO Judicial Committee and was elected Judicial Committee chair.  In 1998 Adam became campaign manager for the Richard Burke gubernatorial campaign.  That same year he was elected as statewide Campaign Director on the LPO State Committee.  In 1999 Adam was elected LPO State Chairman and re-elected again in 2000.  In 2001 Adam was again elected to the LPO Judicial Committee, in 2002 was elected as LPO Vice Chair.and re-elected in 2003.  In 2004 Adam again was elected LPO State Chairman and was  re-elected in 2005 and 2006.

During Adam's tenure as State Chairman and Vice Chair, the registered voter base increased from just under 8000 to over 15000, more people were elected and appointed into public office than ever in the history of the LPO, an executive director was hired, the LPO opened an office in downtown Beaverton, and Adam secured the Libertarian national convention in 2006 that was held in Portland, Oregon.  Adam has been elected into public office and has held appointed offices over the past eight years.
